Pupils and attendance
ADAM keeps one electronic file for each pupil. Attendance, discipline, learning support and medical information sit with the same pupil, so staff find what they need in one place.
The pupil record
Each pupil has a file with personal information and everything ADAM stores or produces about the pupil. You can upload a picture for quick reference. Custom fields let your school record the information it cares about without waiting for a new release.
The Overview screen on pupil, family and staff profiles uses layouts that an administrator designs and assigns. Staff with permission can choose another layout.
You can also keep goals and the strategies attached to them, tag pupils outside the class structure, print student cards and QR codes from your own templates, and store documents against pupils and staff.
Absence alerts the moment a pupil is marked absent
Roll Call records attendance as it happens. It handles timetable roll calls, scheduled roll calls, ad-hoc roll calls, and free-attendance roll calls for clubs, trips and drop-in sessions.
ADAM can notify nominated staff by email and on their dashboard when a pupil is marked absent. Your school chooses which absence reasons trigger an alert. For each kind of roll call, you choose who is notified, by role (the marker, the form-class teacher, the subject teacher) or by name. A short delay absorbs immediate corrections. Automatic absences stay silent.
Roll Call is also an alert source in the periodic Family Alert email to parents.
| 09:52 | Roll call saved by the subject teacher |
| 09:53 | Absent Liam O., reason: not given |
| 09:58 | Alert sent to the form-class teacher |
| 09:58 | Alert shown on the staff dashboard |
More from Roll Call
- Prepare a free-attendance roll call in advance by staging the pupil list from a class or from an earlier roll call.
- Invite other staff to a roll call series as collaborators. Their permissions follow the collaborator list.
- Run the daily subject roll-call report to find registers that were never taken.
Absentee records
Absentee records use categories that suit your school. You can message the parents of absent pupils by email or SMS to confirm the absence. Absentee statistics show trends across a range of reports. ADAM alerts specific staff when a pupil has been absent for a set number of days, so the person in charge of a grade can contact parents before absences become habitual.
Attendance registers
An attendance register tracks attendance at practices and rehearsals. You can keep one for any class, sports team or cultural group. A teacher can keep several registers. It replaces the tick list.
Points and records as flexible as your school needs
Record merits, demerits, service points, cultural points or any other points system. Points can trigger further events, such as a certificate after 20 merits or a detention after 5 demerits.
Record detentions, awards and any other event. A built-in register shows who still needs to attend.
Heads of grade, deputies and pastoral leads can open a log report of discipline activity over a date range. It sorts and filters, exports to Excel, and sits behind its own permission.
| Category | Total | Event |
|---|---|---|
| Merits | 19 | Certificate at 20 merits |
| Demerits | 3 | Detention at 5 demerits |
| Service points | 8 | No event set |
Learning support and psychometric records
Learning-support records sit together on the pupil's profile. Staff capture psychometric results for one pupil at a time or through a bulk capture grid. You can upload, view, replace or remove a pupil's psychometric report. ADAM files the uploaded report in the pupil's documents.
Medical records
ADAM records medical information, consultations, medication and stock, allergies and off-sport records. Allergy and medication notes appear on the pupil's medical tab and on the consultation screens, so staff do not have to search for them. An off-sport record decides whether ADAM marks the pupil absent from roll calls for that period.
Reports and lists
Print a Names and Faces list with parent contact information, phone lists, and labels for pupils, parents and eldest or youngest children. The Enrolment by Month report shows months against grades and exports to Excel.
