School administration built by South African teachers
Marks, reports, promotion decisions and the SA-SAMS export, in one system built for the way South African schools work. When something goes wrong, you speak to the people who build it.

A small team, so your request reaches a developer
There is no call centre between your school and the people who write ADAM. We triage each request as it arrives. A bug report goes straight to the developer who can fix it. Issues are typically fixed within a few hours.
ADAM is built by people who work in schools, so we know the pressure of a report deadline. When your reports are due, we work with you to get them out on time.
The licence fee includes support hours for end-user queries.
| 08:12 | Request received: a report shows the wrong term mark |
| 08:15 | Triaged as a report template fault |
| 08:19 | Passed to the developer who wrote the template |
| 10:41 | Fixed Reports released on time |
Built for South African schools, with percentages first
South African schools report attainment as percentages, not as levels or outcomes. ADAM puts percentages first. Teachers enter marks, ADAM applies each task's weighting, and the term mark and class average follow.
ADAM works out promotion decisions from the National Senior Certificate criteria. It stores your data in data centres in South Africa, and POPIA tools are built in.
| Pupil | Test 25% | Project 25% | Exam 50% | Term mark |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Naledi D. | 72% | 80% | 68% | 72.0% |
| Johan P. | 55% | 64% | 49% | 54.3% |
| Priya N. | 91% | 86% | 88% | 88.3% |
| Sipho K. | 43% | 58% | 37% | 43.8% |
| Class average | 65.3% | 72.0% | 60.5% | 64.6% |
The SA-SAMS export, checked before you submit it
Every South African school must submit its data to the Department of Basic Education. ADAM builds the SA-SAMS database for you to submit to your district office.
Before it builds the database, ADAM checks your data: the EMIS number, admin numbers, and each ID number against the date of birth. It lists anything that needs correcting, so you can fix it in ADAM before you submit.
When LURITS feedback arrives, upload it to ADAM to record each pupil's LURITS number.
| Check | Result |
|---|---|
| School info and EMIS number | Passed |
| Admin numbers | Passed |
| Pupil ID numbers | 1 to correct ID number does not match date of birth |
| Pupil birth and entry dates | Passed |
| Staff ID numbers | Passed |
Every feature included
ADAM is not modular. Every school gets every feature, and new features reach every school at no extra cost. The annual licence includes all updates and fixes.

What schools say
“Hilton College chose ADAM as our administration system after reviewing several offerings. The fact that ADAM was (and continues to be) developed by teachers who are actively involved in schools and who understand how schools and education systems work, made ADAM stand head and shoulders above the competition. The developers are flexible and agile in their approach to requests for changes and new features. What we value most, is the ability to be able to interact directly with the ADAM developers.”
“Highbury has been using ADAM for many years and we have seen the constant development that has taken place in order to accommodate changes in our school requirements, as well as general enhancements for a greater user experience. The ADAM interface is user friendly and easy to navigate, particularly for staff who may not be quite as tech savvy. The ADAM team are extremely responsive in both daily support and when we require larger changes.”
“ADAM is an integral part of our school administration, linking administrators, teachers and parents with a system that meets the needs of all three groups. The support from the team at ADAM is prompt and constructive, and we have been able to request changes to suit the needs of different phases of the school. We would certainly recommend the system to other schools.”
