ADAM newsletter: June 2026

This month brought a big step forward in keeping track of how your classes change through the year, alongside a much smoother online application experience, several new reports to help you chase up portal engagement and leave arrangements, and a steady stream of report-template refinements for individual schools. We've also tidied up the pop-up dialogs you see every day, strengthened sign-in security, and fixed a long list of smaller niggles. Here are the highlights.

Headline: See and edit the full history of a class

Classes change during the year — a teacher hands over, a venue moves, the report text or teaching time is adjusted. Until now, once you changed a class, the previous details were simply overwritten and there was no easy way to see what they used to be or when they changed.

Every class profile page now has a new History tab. It shows a clear visual timeline of the class, with each change highlighted so you can see at a glance who the teacher was in Term 1, when the hand-over happened, and what else was adjusted along the way. Better still, history is no longer just something to look at: staff with the right permission can now correct a past entry, give a change an effective date, and remove a version that was entered by mistake. ADAM protects you while you do this — if a change would affect a report that has already been published, it warns you and asks you to confirm, so you can never quietly rewrite a report that has already gone home. This is a genuine relief for any school that has ever had to reconstruct "who taught this class, and when did it change" from memory.

Five more improvements worth knowing about

Collect documents during the online application

Schools using ADAM's online application now have a much smoother way to gather the paperwork that goes with an application — birth certificates, immunisation records, prior reports and the like. Applicants can upload their documents as part of the application itself, on a single, modern page that shows their progress, rather than chasing them separately afterwards. The application form now carries a clear progress breadcrumb so families always know how far they've got and what's left. On your side, the new Submitted Documents panel on the approval screen lets you preview everything in one place, and ADAM now warns you on that screen when an application looks like a duplicate of someone already on your records, or when a required document is missing — so fewer mistakes slip through at enrolment time.

A daily subject roll-call report

There's a new daily subject roll-call report that lays out, in a single grid, which subject roll calls were taken for a group of pupils across a date range. It's a quick way to spot gaps — a class or subject where attendance wasn't recorded — without clicking through each register. You'll find it under the roll-call reports menu.

Find families and pupils who have never logged in

Two new reports help you chase up portal engagement. The first lists families who have never logged in to the parent portal; the second lists currently enrolled pupils whose family has never logged in. Both are limited to families with a child at the school right now, so the list is genuinely actionable — you can resend invitations, chase detail updates, or fall back to another way of reaching them. Each report can be viewed on screen or downloaded as a spreadsheet, and both use your existing family login-records permission, so there's nothing new to set up.

Attach psychometric reports to learning-support records

For schools using the learning-support module, you can now upload a pupil's psychometric report directly against their result — whether you're capturing results one pupil at a time, working through the bulk capture grid, or editing an existing record. You can view, replace or remove an uploaded report from the same screen, and the files are filed safely in the pupil's documents. A new Administer learning support deletion permission lets the right staff tidy up records that are no longer needed.

Useful Links now reach families and pupils

The Useful Links feature is no longer staff-only. When you add or edit a link you can now choose its audience — staff, families, pupils, or any combination — and links marked for families or pupils appear on their portals. It's an easy way to put a school calendar, a uniform shop or a policy document in front of exactly the right people. ADAM will also gently warn you if you save a link with no audience selected, so a link can't quietly go nowhere.
